Mrs. Hazel Imogene Gorman (Jean) age 77 of Decatur, Alabama passed away Saturday, June 16 at Parkway Medical Center in Alabama.

Mrs. Gorman was born April 25, 1935 in Salem the daughter of Wincel Alva and Rose Lee Cole Knight.  She was a devoted military spouse for 20 years and retired from Wood Reels in 1992.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, affectionately known as "GG".  Her passions in life were gardening, genealogy and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years:  Alfred Eugene Gorman and a great granddaughter:  Anna Sons.  She is survived by two daughters:  Debra J. Shaffer and Sandra I. Sons (Mike) of Decatur, Alabama, a son:  Patrick A. Gorman of Haymarket, Virginia, seven grandchildren:  Mike Sons, Josie Hopkins, Andrew Shaffer, Jeremy Sons, Steve Sons and Katie Shaffer all of Decatur and Arianna Gorman of Haymarket, eleven great-grandchildren:  Bradley Hopkins, Lori Sons, Sara Beth Hopkins, Caden Sons, Lily Shaffer, Tucker Hopkins, Luke Sons, Abby Sons, Landon Sons, Madelynn Sons and Lucy Sons and one great-grandchild due in January.
