James "Fidge" Ervin Kemp

Obituary

Mr. James “Fidge” Ervin Kemp, age 73, of Orleans, passed away Friday, January 3 at IU Hospice House in Bloomington.

Mr. Kemp was born May 8, 1946 in Campbellsburg the son of Cecil and Hallie Chastain Kemp.  He was retired from Crane Naval Base.  He was an Army veteran and member of American Legion Post #195.  He was also a member of New Hope United Methodist Church.

James is survived by three sisters:  Helen Sama, Sarah Bachman, and Diana Green of Campbellsburg and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers:  Donald Kemp, Kenneth Kemp, Bobby Kemp, David Kemp and Cecil Wayne Kemp, and four sisters:  Kathleen Goen, Rose Rosenbaum, Carolyn McCoy, and Mary Kemp.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11AM at Weathers Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Claysville Cemetery with military honors.  Visitation will be Monday from 4-8PM and Tuesday from 9AM-time of service.
