Anna R (Middleton) Tegarden

Anna Ruth Tegarden was welcomed to her heavenly home on Wednesday, October 20, 2021.

Ann was born May 1, 1939 in Harlan, KY.  She was the daughter of Orville Sr. and Delora Witt Middleton. Ann had 5 siblings Evalyn (Brown), Orville Jr., Barbara (Robinson), Walter, and Phyllis (Persinger).

Ann married Lee Edward Tegarden in May of 1959.  They were married 44 years until Lee passed away in November 2003.

Ann was the owner of Ann’s Beauty Shop and proud to be a hairdresser for 58 years.

Ann was very active in her community; she was a member of Westview Christian Church where she taught Sunday school and was active with the youth groups. She also enjoyed cooking and was part of the group that cooked for the various church activities. She was proud to help serve “home cooked meals” at the church booth at the Washington county fair for several years. She was active with the youth in 4-H, Cub scouts, and she also served on the Washington County fair-board. She loved being a member of the Red Hat Society and participating in charity fundraisers like Relay for Life.

Ann is survived by sons, Jeffrey (Roena), Stephen (Sharon), and 3 grandchildren Elizabeth, Gerald, and Joshua, whom she adored and spoiled every chance she could.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, husband, and son Michael.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Washington County Chapter of Relay for Life, 404 N. High Street, Salem, Indiana, 47167.

A graveside service will take place at 3 PM Saturday, October 23 at Mt. Tabor cemetery
