Aubrey B Ayres

Mr. Aubrey B. Ayres, age 79, of Salem, passed away Wednesday, December 13 at Baptist Health Floyd.

Mr. Ayres was born October 23, 1943, in Fredericksburg, Indiana, the son of Tom and Maye Edens Ayres.  He was a Vietnam War Army veteran, a graduate of Hardinsburg High School, and retired from Pillsbury after 42 years of service.

Aubrey is survived by his wife:  Janet Bell Ayres.  They were married April 15, 1972.  He is also survived by a son:  Jacob A. Ayres (Linda Chen) of Overland Park, Kansas, a daughter:  Abigail E. Bassett (Andrew) of Volo, Illinois, six brothers:  Dennis Ayers (Patricia) of Borden, Norman Ayres (Benetta) of Salem, Illinois, Tom Ayres of New Albany, David Ayres of New Albany, Wayne Ayres (Kathy) of Corydon, Michael Ayres (Maya) of Philippines, a sister:  Clarine Blair (James) of New Albany, and a step-sister:  Sharon K. Wilson.   He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather:  Heber Wilson, a sister:  Phyllis Burns (Stanley), and two sisters-in-law:  Pauline and Sondra Ayres.

Funeral services and burial in Horners Chapel Cemetery were private.
