Barbara J (Hinton) Thompson Nichols

Mrs. Barbara Thompson Nichols, age 85, of Salem, passed away Friday, September 3 at Salem Crossing.

Mrs. Nichols was born May 19, 1936 in Louisville, Kentucky the daughter of Joseph and Violet Houchin Hinton. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church.

She is survived by three daughters: Joanna Thompson of Salem, Vicky Thompson of Taylor Mill, Kentucky, and Loretta Goen (Mike) of Salem, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her first husband, Raymond Thompson, the father of her children.  They would go on to separate and she would later marry Warren Nichols, who precedes her in death.  She is also preceded in death by a daughter: Tami Thompson and her parents.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 7 at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hardinsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 11AM until time of service at the funeral home.  The family requests that visitors please wear a mask.
