Mrs. Carole Sue Cornett, age 78, of Salem, passed away Saturday, August 20 at her home.

Mrs. Cornett was born March 24, 1944 in New Albany the daughter of Guy and Roberta Wells Voyles. Carole was a member of the United Methodist Church in Fredericksburg, and Faith Southern Baptist Church. She was retired from Child Craft Industries in Salem.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Paul Shelton on August 25, 1999. She is also preceded in death by a brother: Ernest Guy Voyles, a grandson: Colin Cornett, and her parents.

Carole is survived by her husband: Wilson Cornett, two daughters: Pamela Waldridge (Timothy) of Salem, and Lisa Davidson (Kevin) also of Salem, three step-sons: Danny Cornett of Seymour, Robin Cornett (Amy) of Salem, and Billy Jo Cornett also of Salem, three step-daughters: Teresa Reynolds (Rick) of Salem, Lisa Hall of Brownstown, and Cheri Cornett also of Brownstown, a brother: Guy Lynn Voyles of Corydon, a sister: Regina Allen of Lawrenceburg, KY, 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM Thursday at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Horners Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4-8PM and Thursday from 10AM-until time of service at the funeral home.
