Obituary

Carolyn E. Barker, 89, of Brownsburg, Indiana, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on October 23, 2026.

Born on November 20, 1936, in Salem, Indiana, Carolyn was the daughter of Harold and Sarah Gamble. She wed William Barker March 5, 1955, which resulted in a union of 60 years and four children. She lived a life defined by faith, dedication to her family, and a love for serving others.

Carolyn was a talented and respected professional hairdresser who owned and operated Snip & Curl Beauty Shop. Throughout her career, she built lasting friendships with her clients and took great pride in helping others look and feel their best.

A devoted sports fan, Carolyn enjoyed watching nearly every kind of sporting event, from professional Football to the Little League World Series. College basketball was among her favorites, and those who knew her best would likely say she had a special fondness for cheering on Indiana University.

Faith was the cornerstone of Carolyn's life. One of her greatest passions was Bible Study Fellowship (BSF), where she faithfully served as a leader for 26 years. She found great joy in studying God's Word and mentoring women in their spiritual journeys. Carolyn was also a devoted member of Clermont Christian Church, where she found fellowship, encouragement, and opportunities to serve.

More than any accomplishment, Carolyn treasured her family. She is survived by her daughters, Tanya (William) Kersey and Tia (Andrew) Pool; eight beloved grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Sarah Gamble; her brother, John Gamble; her sister-in-law, Joan Gamble; her husband, William Barker; her daughters, Terri Rinker and Tracey Barker; and her son-in-law, Donald Rinker.

Carolyn will be remembered for her steadfast faith, caring heart, love of family, and the many lives she touched through her work, her church, and her years of service with Bible Study Fellowship. Her legacy of kindness, devotion, and perseverance will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.

"Well done, good and faithful servant."

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.

Services for Carolyn will be held Friday, November 6, 2026, at 3:00P.M. at Weathers Funeral Home with visitation being held at 11:00A.M. until the time of service. Burial will take place immediately following the services at Franklin Cemetery.
