Charlie Thomas, age 87, of Pekin, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2026, at Norton Clark Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 29, 1939, to Silas and Eliza Quillen Thomas in Neon, Kentucky.

Charlie attended the New Salisbury Church of God of Prophecy and recently also attended Redemption Pentecostal Church of God in Austin, Indiana. Charlie also attended bible study at Free Gospel Fellowship in Pekin where he had previously attended.

Surviving to cherish the memory of Charlie is his son, Michael Thomas (Heather); seven daughters, Charlene Nelson (Paul), Sheila Lewellen (Kevin), Debbie Brewer, Angela Jackson (Steve), Sandra Turner (Toney), Melissa Hobson (Russell), and Eleshia Bowlin; two brothers, Silas Thomas Jr. (Stevie) and John Thomas (Cindy); three  sisters, Christine Griessman (Glen), Lucy Metcalf and Linda Butler; 21 grandchildren, Aarika, Adrienne, Aarin, Anthony, Amy, Patrick, Ashley, Kara, Thomas, Zachary, Nicholas, Nathan, Jordan, Tyler, Skylar, Logan, Jill, Michael, Caleb, Braxton, Serenity, and Gunnar; and 30 great-grandchildren, Marissa, Mariah, Markus, Micah, Mylee, Shelbi, Sidney, LJ, Aaron, Forest, Phoenix, Finn, William, Matthew, Annie, Ian, Avery, Christopher, Connor, Wesley, Sammy, Archer, Ava, Kyah, Brystal, Nyxan, Maddy, Keegan, Kendellyn, Annabella, Bentlee, Caleb and Zynnlee. He is also survived by his loving dog companion, Loma.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elizabeth Caudill; and two siblings, Virgina Lee Bulter and Paul Thomas.

Funeral services for Charlie will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at Weathers Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery.
