Clarence H. Metz

Mr. Clarence H. Metz, age 93, of Jasper, formerly of Salem, passed away Saturday, October 15 at Memorial Hospital in Jasper.

Mr. Metz was born April 13, 1929, in St. Anthony, Indiana the son of Harry (Henry) Metz and Theresa Hasenour Metz.  He was a retired employee of Kimball Manufacturing in Borden and former owner of the old Duffy’s Restaurant in Salem.   He was a Korean War Army veteran.

Clarence is survived by his wife:  Doris Matheis Metz.  He is also survived by two sons:  Arnie Metz of Salem, Danny Metz (Katherine) of Brighton, Colorado, a brother:  Silas Metz of St. Anthony, Indiana, five sisters:  Anna Mae Metz of Huntingburg, Indiana, Dorothy Olinger of Huntingburg, Helen Callea of Chicago, Louella Steckler of Huntinburg, and Theresa Metz of Huntingburg, and 7 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter:  Donna Schnell, and a brother: Linus Metz.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from Noon-3PM at Weathers Funeral Home.  A mass will be held at a later date in Jasper.
