Collene A (Bailey) Cress

Mrs. Collene A. Cress, age 88, of Salem, passed away Thursday, August 17 at her home.

Mrs. Cress was born October 17, 1934, in New Albany, Indiana, the daughter of John B. Bailey and Ollie Vaughn Bailey.

Collene married Robert Lee Cress on January 17, 1959, and he preceded her in death on December 17, 2022.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers:  Nolan Bailey, James Bailey, and Johnnie Bailey, and three sisters:  Kotha Sharp, Juanita Groves, and Martha Saettel.

She is survived by one son:  Nick Cress (Julie) of Salem, two brothers:  Ronnie Bailey and Jackie Bailey of New Albany, three sisters:  Sharon Clubb of New Albany, Lynda Miller of New Albany, and Darlene Williams of New Albany, and two grandchildren:  Valerie Cress Moore (Michael) of Bedford and Sam Cress of Salem.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:00PM at Weathers Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be Monday from 3-7PM and Tuesday from Noon-time of service.
