Dannie Smith Jr.

Dannie Smith Jr., age 57 of Salem, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at his home.

Mr. Smith was born August 22, 1967 in New Albany, Indiana the son of Dannie Smith Sr. and Sam and Betty Weisbach Jeffers. He is an Army and Air Force veteran, and served in Desert Storm.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Margaret Rita Smith who he married on March 10, 1988. He is also survived by his parents Sam and Betty Jeffers, by his son, Guthrie Smith of New Albany, his daughters Renee Price of Shreveport, LA, Michelle Milford of New Albany, Sonya Miller of Bedford, Samantha Frederick of French Lick and Kimberly Smith of New Albany. He is also survived by his sisters, Beth Wofford of Hardinsburg, Connie Smith of New Albany and Bonnie Ballard of Clarksville, many grand children and several great-grandchildren.

Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his father, Dannie Smith Sr., his grandparents, Myrtress Smith, Gene Paris, Louise Weisbach and Clarence Weisbach.

Cremation was chosen, but his ashes will be buried at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in Madison Indiana.
