David Lee Ponder age 61 of Salem passed away Wednesday, August 1 at his home.
Mr. Ponder was born May 22, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio the son of Fred and M. Evelyn Strain Ponder. He was an Independent Sales Representative for Regal and a self employed construction worker. He was a member of NMLRA..
He is survived by his wife: Sherry Abbott Givens Ponder. They were married May 21, 2011. He is also survived by two sons: Joshua Eric Ponder (Hogan) of Henryville and Macon David Ponder of Jacksonville, Florida, a daughter: Cassie Ponder Shearer of Prospect, Kentucky, a brother: Lance Evan Ponder of Corydon, a sister: Bonnie Carol Ponder Yake of Dover, New Jersey and 4 grandchildren.
The family asks that no flowers be sent and instead, donation be sent to Hoosier Uplands Hospice, Floyd Memorial Hospital or Amercian Cancer Society.
