Donald Wayne Gilstrap

Mr. Donald Wayne Gilstrap, age 74, of Salem passed away Saturday, March 27 at his home.

Mr. Gilstrap was born July 29, 1946 in Salem, Indiana the son of John F. Gilstrap Sr. and Irene Ballou Gilstrap.  He was a former Butcher for the old Hilltop Supermarket and also worked for the City of Salem as a personal assistant to Mayor Frank Newkirk Sr.   He was a member of Salem Nazarene Church.

Donald is survived by three daughters:  Jacqueline Gilstrap of Salem, Jennifer Gilstrap (Gerald Ambers) of Salem, and Allisyn Timberlake of Connecticut, a son:  Kyle Gilstrap of New York, a brother:  Arthur O. Gilstrap Sr. of Salem, a sister: Phyllis Crawford of Salem, five grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers:  John F. “Jack” Gilstrap Jr. and Terry Gilstrap, and a granddaughter:  Kaylen Jackson.

Funeral services will be private.  Private burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. The family requests no flowers or donations.
