Gary L. Malott

Mr. Gary L. Malott, age 86, of Salem, passed away Tuesday, January 9 at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.

Mr. Malott was born February 6, 1937, in Salem, Indiana the son of Samuel and Edith Margaret Gibson Malott.  He was a retired civil service employee for 30 years.  Gary was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, a Mason, and member of Scottish Rite, Valley of Indianapolis and Murat Shrine.  He was a US Navy veteran.  Gary was an avid fan of John Wayne and enjoyed watching any old western movie.

Gary was preceded in death by his wife:  Patricia Allen Malott, two brothers:  William and Jack, two sisters:  Mary and Shirley and his parents.  He is survived by his children:  Scott Malott (Kiyomi) and Jeffrey Malott (Gayle) both of Panama City, Florida, and Holli Smith (Terry) of Knox, Indiana, 5 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 5 step- great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at Noon at Weathers Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Blue River Friends Cemetery with military honors.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 10Am-time of service.
