George Lewis Fletcher
October 26, 1930 — July 21, 2017
Mr. George Lewis Fletcher age 86 passed away Friday July 21 at his home. He was born October 26, 1930 in Salem, Indiana the son of Floyd Milton Fletcher Sr. and Hazel Barnett Fletcher. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force after 23 years, having served during the Korea and Vietnam Wars. He was also a retired school bus driver, farmer, and preacher. He was a member of Salem (High Street) Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife: Betty Peden they were married May 24, 1951. He is also survived by a son: Bob “Handy Man” Fletcher of Salem, a daughter: DeAnn Johnston of Fredericksburg, Virginia, a brother: Homer Fletcher of Cupertino, California, a sister: Jewel Mason of Sterling, Virginia, and 2 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his brothers: Charles Fletcher and Floyd Fletcher Jr., and a sister: Mildred McMurtrey.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday July 26, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8 P.M. and Wednesday at 9 AM until time of service. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery with military honors.
