Mr. Harold Temple, age 87, of Salem, passed away Saturday, October 18 at Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown.
Mr. Temple was born June 21, 1938, in Salem , Indiana, the son of Harold Temple and Marguerette "Nellie" Hill Temple. He was a retired roofer for Abraham's Roofing. He was a member of Brownstown Nazarene Church and VFW.
Harold grew up in Pekin, Indiana, helping his parents on their 66 acre farm, Temple Orchard. He helped his dad, Harold Temple, with growing apples, peaches, and raising honey bees. They served the community and surronding area for over 50 years. Harold had a great love for his family, grandkids, and great-grandkids. He loved talking to people and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Harold had a talent for creating, whether it be art, painting, working on cars, or music. He had a love for music, and enjoyed playing guitars and harmonicas, often using his talents in church and at family gatherings, playing and singing for those in attendance.
Mr. Temple was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann Standiford Temple, on July 31, 2025. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two sons: Roger Blair Temple and Anthony Wayne Temple, and a daughter: Carolyn Sue Temple.
He is survived by two sons: Billy Temple (Leanna) of Brownstown and Brian Temple (Tammy) of Crothersville, a daughter: Cindy Temple Satterfield of Tarpon Springs, Florida, 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Harold was loved so much by his family and will always be missed.
Celebration of Life services will be held Saturday, November 1 at 1PM at Community Church of Brownstown, 117 W. Tanner St. Brownstown, IN 47220
