James David Kirby

Mr. James David Kirby, age 75, of Salem, passed away Friday, September 30 at his home.

Mr. Kirby was born March 30, 1947 in Bedford, Indiana the son of Robert and Catherine Gilstrap Kirby. He was a retired truck driver and mechanic. James was a lifelong resident of Washington County. He served 2 years in the Indiana Army National Guard.

He is survived by a son: James-Pnut Kirby (Julie) of Salem, two daughters: Melissa Padgett (Patrick) of Rushville, and Paula Collier of Indianapolis, a brother: Paul Kirby of Salem, a sister: Janet Gibbons (Denver) of Salem, 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by a daughter: Stacey Kirby, a grandson: Mark Allen Adkins, a great-grandson: Leelan Robert Crain, a sister: Vera Gilchrist, four brothers: Frank Kirby, Gene Kirby, Mike Kirby, and Ralph Kirby, and his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 1PM Wednesday at Weathers Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10AM-until time of service.
