Mr. James Lee "Jim" Sechrist, age 77, of Salem, met his Lord and Savior, on September 15, 2025 at Robley Rex VAMC in Louisville, KY.
Jim was born June 3, 1948, in Warsaw, Indiana the son of Lamarr and Evelyn Sechrist.
He married Helen Wellborn on November 10, 1968. They had three children: Monica Turner of Syracuse, Indiana, Monty Sechrist (Lori) of Leesburg, Indiana, and Marlin Sechrist (Michelle) of Indianapolis, 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Helen.
On May 24, 2003, he married Marilyn Potter Sechrist, who survives along with a step-son: Travis Hampton (Jessica).
Jim served his country in the Army, where he was a helicopter mechanic. He was a tour bus team driver for Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana. He also was a former employee of Davis Equipment and Salem Auto Parts in Salem, Indiana. Jim loved hunting, fishing, fixing tractors and other small equipment. He also enjoyed seeing the country on his Goldwing motorcycle.
He is also survived by four sisters: Joann Saltzgiver, June Klotz, Janice Fountain, and Jerrilyn Davis. He was preceded in death by one sister: Judy Sechrist and his parents.
Visitation will be Friday from 5-7PM at Weathers Funeral Home. Cremation will follow. Burial will be in Clunette Cemetery, Clunette, Indiana.
