Mr. Jimmy G. Mahuron, age 82, of Salem, passed away Saturday, May 31.
Mr. Mahuron was born December 2, 1942, in Salem, the son of Warren and Miriam Allison Mahuron. He was a retired superintendent for the City of Salem Water Department. He was a member of Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, Salem Branch. Jimmy was an Army veteran. He was an avid amateur radio operator and loved bees and bee keeping.
Jimmy is survived by his wife: Ellen Markland Mahuron. They were married February 26, 1966. He is also survived by three sons: Winn Mahuron of Salem, James Mahuron (Glenda) of Campbellsburg, and Nathan Mahuron of Saltillo, a daughter: Laura Layden (Shawn) of Holbrook, Arizona, two sisters: Warrenette Padgett of Salem and Bannah Hanover of Pekin, 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter: Mary Ellen Mahuron and four great-grandsons: Skylar, Liam, Ezra and Noah Humes.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2PM at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10AM-time of service.
