Mr. Kenneth Warren “Pappy” Cress age 90 of Salem passed away Friday, December 5 at Robley Rex VAMC in Louisville.
Mr. Cress was born May 28, 1924 in Burning Springs, Kentucky the son of Elisha and Frances Muncy Cress. He was a retired employee of Link Handle Company. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of Big Spring Church of Christ and VFW.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Jewell N. Witt Cress, brothers: Abner “Dickie”, Hugh, Bill, Herbert, Marion, Herman, Larkin, Paul, Roy and Lloyd Cress, and sisters: Ora Russell and Opal Stewart and his parents.
He is survived by three sons: Gary Cress (Jayne) of Pekin, Larry Cress (Cathy) of Palmyra and Jeffrey Cress (Kim Coliapolis) of Salem, a brother: Robert Cress of Salem, a sister: Margaret Morrow of Salem, 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00AM at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Big Spring Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8PM and Wednesday from 9AM-time of service.
