Mrs. Lorena P. Spurgeon Watkins age 78 of Salem passed away Saturday, May 11 at 8:20AM at Salem Crossing.
Mrs. Watkins was born May 22, 1934 in Washington County, Indiana the daughter of Oscar and Audra Blanche Fultz Spurgeon. She was a former employee of Murphy's 5 and 10 for 50 years and retired from Central Tractor. She was a graduate of Ivy Tech and a member of Salem First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Marvin Watkins, a brother: Earl "Pig" Spurgeon, three sisters: Blanche Watkins, Mary Louise Spurgeon and Gladys Spurgeon, and her parents.
She is survived by a daughter: Pam Knight of Salem and a granddaughter: Misty Callaway of Salem.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:00AM at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4-8PM and Tuesday from 9AM-time of service.
