Lynda Kaye Humphrey, age 87 of Salem, passed away in New Albany, on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Rivercrest Senior Living.
Mrs. Humphrey was born November 3, 1938 in Mitchell, Indiana the daughter of Herman and Margaret Stepp Freeman. She earned her Education Degree at Franklin College and she earned her Masters Degree from Indiana University. She was a retired elementary school teacher from West Washington. Mrs. Humphrey was a member of Mount Tabor Christian Church, Phi Beta Psi, Gideons Auxiliary and the Washington County Hospital Women's Auxiliary.
Mrs. Humphrey is survived by her son, Greg Humphrey (Shelby) of Bloomington, her daughter, Jana Russell (Jeremy Cox) of Fredericksburg, her grandchildren, Logan Humphrey (Mallory), Bailey King (Luke), Mallory Humphrey, Rian Russell (Mason Armstrong), Holden Russell, and great grandchildren, Harrison and Noah. Even though Lynda didn't have any siblings of her own, she was blessed with a wonderful family of brother and sister in laws.
Mrs. Humphrey is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 59 years, Jerald Humphrey.
Services will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 6P.M. at Weathers Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 2P.M until the time of the service. Burial will be on Thursday at 11A.M at Livonia Cemetery.
