Malcolm Hays McMakin
July 21, 1942 — December 3, 2014
Mr. Malcolm Hays McMakin age 72 of Hardinsburg passed away Wednesday, December 3 at St. Vincent Hospital of Salem.
Mr. McMakin was born July 21, 1942 in Frankfort, Kentucky the son of Julius Emerson and Lottie May Richardson McMakin. He was an EMT, had been a firefighter for more than 50 years and was a former police officer. He worked with FEMA and the Indiana DMORT team. He was involved with EMS and fire departments in Harrison and Washington County. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Police, Rotary International and National Guard.
He is survived by his brother: George Ernest McMakin of Richmond, Kentucky and two nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held at Weathers Funeral Home on Monday, December 8 from 4-6PM.
