Martha Elizabeth (Woods) Kemp

Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Kemp age 90 of Salem passed away Wednesday, July 19 at Salem Crossing.
Mrs. Kemp was born May 23, 1927 in Hyden, Kentucky the daughter of Lilburn W. and Sophia Begley Woods. She was the former owner/manager of three Tasty Freeze Restaurants, one in Charlestown and two in Kentucky.
On August 6, 1949 she married Merrill J. Kemp and he survives. She is also survived by three daughters: Clara Thomas and Linda L. Kemp both of Louisville and Brenda S. Kemp of Shelbyville, Kentucky, a brother: Charles David Woods of Little Rock, Arkansas, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son: Merrill J. Kemp, Jr., three brothers: Isaac Woods, Lilburn Woods, Jr. and Alexander Woods, and three sisters: Francis P. Woods, Delana Bills and Betty Jean Renaker, and her parents.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30AM at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4PM and Monday from 9AM-time of service.
