Miles Kent Packwood

Mr. Miles Kent Packwood, age 68, of Salem, passed away Tuesday, October 19 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Mr. Packwood was born August 26, 1953, in Salem the son of Harold and Mabel Thixton Packwood.  He was a 1972 graduate of Salem High School and was a retired employee of GKN.  He attended Northside Christian Church.

Miles is survived by his wife:  Melanie Roop Packwood.  They were married June 17, 1978.  He is also survived by two sons:  Bryan Packwood (Amey) of Pekin and Nathan Packwood (Samantha Fendel) of Salem, a daughter:  Shelley Kurzendoerfer (Dan) of Sellersburg, two brothers:  Bill Packwood (Sherrie) of Martinsville and Carl Packwood (Karen) of Charlestown, seven sisters:  Jane Bilyeu (James) of Glendale, Arizona, Helma Murray (Freddie) of Glendale, Arizona, Mary Noble (Charles) of Glendale, Arizona, Barbara Prather (Charles) of New Albany, Martha Reynolds (Terry) of Saltillo, Marilyn Rosenbaum (Jon) of Orleans, and Sarah Burton (Jerry) of Bloomington, and four grandchildren:  Haakan, Atticus, Axton, and Orion.  He was preceded in death by two sisters: Nancy Packwood and Rebecca Doyle (Irvin) and his parents.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11AM at Weathers Funeral Home.  Burial will follow on Claysville Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday from 4-8PM and Saturday from 9AM-time of service.
