Mrs. Nellie M. Brown age 98 of Salem passed away Thursday, November 29 at 3:05AM at her home.
Mrs. Brown was born April 10, 1914 in South Boston, Indiana the daughter of William Andy and Martha Etta Glass Collier. She was a member of Salem Church of Nazarene, Campbellsburg Homemakers Club, and a charter member of Hospital Auxiliary. She was a recipient of Boy Scout's Silver Fawn Award.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Lester O. Brown. They were married June 24, 1931. She was also preceded in death by a daughter: Faye Etta Maudlin, seven brothers: Floyd, Irvin, Howard, Bascom, Ted and Herman Collier and Dewey McPherson, and two sisters: Minnie Rutherford and Allie Boling. She is survived by two daughters: Dorothy Brown and Judy (Jim) Tabor both of Salem, a sister: Nina Cox of Bedford, seven grandchildren: Mark and Dan Maudlin, Steve Brown, Gael Liebert, Julie Richardson, Angela Rosenbaum and Kim Wheeler, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:00PM at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hop Cemetery,Campbellsburg. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:30-8PM and Monday from 9AM-time of service.
