Parvin Dewayne Chastain

Mr. Parvin Dewayne Chastain age 83 of Salem passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017 at his farm in Salem.
Mr. Chastain was born March 21, 1934 in Orange County, Indiana the son of Claude Ray and Hazel Martin Chastain. He was retired from BF Goodrich and was a farmer. He was a member of the Cattleman’s Association and was an Army veteran.
Parvin is survived by his wife: Naomi Ruth Burton Chastain. They were married July 22, 1957. He is also survived by a son: Roger Chastain of Georgetown, Indiana, two daughters: Pam Strong Frymire (Rich Frymire) of Floyds Knobs and Debbie Nale-Wassom (Reg Wassom) of Georgetown, four grandchildren: Morgan Strong (Becky) of Charlestown, Evan Strong (Elise) of New Albany, Taylor Nale of Georgetown, and Cassie Nale of Georgetown, five step-grandchildren: Chloe Wassom of New Albany, Jacob Wassom of Louisville, Ike Wassom (Molly) of Louisville, Sylvia Wassom of New Albany, and Daniel Frymire of Fort Bragg ,and great-grandchildren: Harper, Hudson and Madeline Strong.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister: Bethel Cornwell, and a brother: William Ellis Chastain.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00AM at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7PM and Thursday from 9AM-time of service.
