Paul Junior Dinklocker, age 67 of Salem, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2026 at St. Vincent Salem Hospital.
Paul was born April 23, 1959 in Corydon, the son of Paul Dinklocker and Rose Foster Dinklocker. He was a member of Southern Hills Church, The Salem Moose Lodge and prior to closing, The Eagles Club.
A man on unwavering faith, a servants heart, and a deep love for others, he was a beloved and respected member of his church and community. His love for the Lord was not simply something he spoke about, but something he demonstrated through his kindness, generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed. He faithfully served as a member of the praise team at Southern Hills, sharing his musical talents and helping prepare the sound and music for worship services. Music was a special part of his life having played in the band Seldom Heard many years ago. A gifted musician and songwriter, he wrote two beautiful songs, including one titled, "Hello Jesus." Through his music, his ministry and the way he treated others, he touched countless lives and left a lasting impression on his community.
He was a devoted Indiana University fan who loved cheering on the Hoosiers, riding his Harley and enjoying motorcycle trips, especially to Washington and Maine. He also held a special place in his heart for his beloved dogs, Zoey who preceded him in death, and Sadie. While he enjoyed many things throughout his life, nothing meant more to him than his Lord and his family. He was a man who seemed to never meet a stranger, always had a smile to share and had a remarkable way of making others feel welcomed, valued and loved. He gave freely of his time, his talents, and his heart, never seeking recognition, but simply wanting to make a difference. His life was a beautiful reflection of his faith and his legacy will be found not only in the music he shared or the service he gave, but in the countless hearts he touched along the way. His passing leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of his family, friends, church family, and community. He was truly one of those rare individuals whose presence made the world a little brighter and he will deeply be missed by all who were blessed to know him.
Paul is survived by is wife of 38 years, Lisa Dinklocker, who he married October 25, 1988. He is also survived by his children, Chris Siltz (Tammy) of Memphis and KaiLee Shoemaker (Elliott) of Evansville. He is survived by his grandchildren, JohnPaul Siltz, Alissa Siltz and Carter Shoemaker, his sisters, Mary Mills and Judy Jacobs and many nieces and nephews.
