Obituary

Paul Edward Humphrey, age 73 of Campbellsburg, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026 at his home, surrounded by his family.

Mr. Humphrey was born May 20, 1953 in Seymour, Indiana, the son of Charles Edward Humphrey (Elizabeth) and Ima Pauline Tapp. He was a Navy Veteran, was in the National Guard and in the Naval Reserve. Paul was a graduate of Salem High Schools Class of 1971 and loved all of his classmates. He attended various trade schools earning college credits and certificates. His last position in the Navy was a Drug Enforcement Officer. Not only did he serve his country, but his county and community through the American Legion, VFW, NRA, CASA program, Salem Agape Ministries and various other volunteer services. He loved his yard and was an avid outdoor person. His favorite things were fishing with his wife, family and friends. Hunting for mushrooms, wild game, bird watching, working in his yard planting new flowers and weeding in the old ones. His time in the Navy gave him a lifetime love of open waters; creeks, rivers, lakes, ocean and the sea, spending time and making memories with his family. He loved his children, grandchildren and great grands and was proud of them with his all.

Mr. Humphrey is survived by his wife, Marie Shirley Humphrey. He is also survived by his daughters: Vina Schickel, Bonnie (Dax) Whitehouse, Anna Hall and Amanda (Jamie) Troutman , his brothers: Steve (Stump) Humphrey, Dale Catlett, James Catlett, Joe Humphrey, Vern Humphrey, Ed Humphrey, his sister, Deborah Durbin, grandchildren: Ryan Lee, Peyton McGehee, Jameson Hall, Ethan Schickel, Talon Smith and his great grandchildren, Lowen Lee, Tobi Lee, Abner Hall and lots of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Humphrey is preceded in death by his parents, and his son, Wesley Humphrey.

Services will be held Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 11:00A.M. at Weathers Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday, from 11:00A.M until 7:00P.M and Saturday morning from 9:00A.M until the time of service. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Vallonia Cemetery.
