Richard "Rick" Jones

Mr. Richard "Rick" C. Jones, age 73, of Salem, passed away Friday, January 2 at his home. Mr. Jones was born September 14, 1952 in Peekskill, New York, the son of Sammie and Shirley Wilson Jones. Shirley passed away when he was 7 weeks old and Rick was raised by his father and Opal Jenkins Jones. He was a 1971 graduate of Pacifica High School. Rick was a member of Kansas Church of Christ and a retired truck driver for Kimball International. Mr. Jones is survived by his wife: Sue Helms Jones. They were married June 25, 1972. He is also survived by a son: Tim Jones of Salem, a daughter: Theresa Hardin of Coatsville, Indiana, four sisters: Bonnie McBride of Memphis, Indiana, Linda Gilmore (Bob) of Antioch, California, Sheila Horn (Harold) of English, Indiana, and Jamie Everage (David) of Henryville, Indiana, two grandchildren: Jacob Silverthorn (Chelsie) of Salem and Kelsea Hardin of Coatsville, Indiana, and four great-grandchildren: Aubrey, Maddy, Braxton and Case, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son: Keith Duane Jones, and three sisters: Helen Qualkenbush, Jo Ann Cole, and Thlema Farmer. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11AM at Kansas Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Kansas Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8PM and Friday from 9AM-time of service at Kansas Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to: Suicide Prevention or donor's charity of choice.
