Mr. Robert Lee Cress, age 89, of Salem, passed away Saturday, December 17 at Ascension St. Vincent in Salem.

Mr. Cress was born January 7, 1933, in Washington County, Indiana the son of Elisha and Frances Muncy Cress.  He was a retired U.S. Air Force Technical Sergeant and then drove a bus for East Washington Schools.  He was of the Church of Christ faith.  He was an Air Force veteran and a member of VFW, American Legion, and NRA.

Robert is survived by his wife:  Collene Bailey Cress.  They were married January 17, 1959.  He is also survived by his son:  Nick Cress (Julie) of Salem and two grandchildren:  Valorie Cress Moore and Sam Cress.  He was preceded in death by his parents, eleven brothers:  Hugh, Bill, Herbert, Marion, Herman, Larkin, Paul, Roy, Abner, Lloyd, and Warren Cress, and three sisters:  Ora Russell, Opal Stewart, and Margaret Morrow.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 27 at 1PM at Weathers Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery with military honors.  Visitation will be Monday from 2-6PM and Tuesday from Noon-time of service.

Memorial donations may be made to:  St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Ronald McDonald House.
