Roger Dale Singleton

Roger Dale Singleton, 77, of Salem, IN, passed away at Hampton Oaks Health Campus- Scottsburg on Monday, January 31, 2022.

Roger was born in Washington County, IN on July 7, 1944, to Wallace Singleton and Norma Nicholson Singleton. He grew up in Campbellsburg, IN and attended Campbellsburg High School. He was a member of Sugar Creek Christian Church.

Roger was a delivery driver for United Parcel Service where he was employed for 29 years. He was a member of the Coon Hunters Club and Washington County Fish and Game Club. He enjoyed fishing but his preferred hobby was coon hunting. He won many trophies and was featured for Dog of the Year.

In his retirement he put his mechanic skills to use. There wasn’t a tractor, lawn or farm, that he couldn’t fix. He spent his free time cheering for his beloved Indiana Hoosiers, Indianapolis Colts, and Cincinnati Reds. One might also find him at a Relay for Life event, Nice's Diner  or driving through the countryside in his Ranger.

He is survived by his children: Eric Singleton (Lisa) of Salem; Brad Singleton of Jeffersonville; Kristen Jones (Greg) of Sellersburg; and Kari Thompson (Michael) of Clayton. 7 grandchildren: Chase, Lauren, and Leslie Singleton; Ethan and Madison Aly; Ellie and Will Thompson and 1 great-grandchild: Bristol Aly. 3 sisters: Grace Chastain (Junior) of Orleans; Linda Freed (Ronald) of Pekin; Joy Goen (Gene) of Orleans and 1 brother: Barry Singleton (Molly) of Orleans. He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters: Rita Riley and Shirley Terrell, and three brothers: Paul Nicholson, Eugene Singleton, and Joe Singleton.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 7 at 11AM at Weathers Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Campbellsburg.  Visitation will be Sunday from 2-6PM and Monday from 9AM-time of service at the funeral home.
