Mr. Tom L. Guthrie, age 78, of Campbellsburg, passed away Monday, June 13 at his home.
Mr. Guthrie was born July 20, 1943, in Manilla, Indiana the son of Winfred and Esther Dalton Guthrie. He was a United States Army Veteran. Tom was a member of Saltillo Christian Church, the Washington Co. Pilots Association, a former Brown Township Trustee, and currently served on the Advisory Board. He was a 1961 graduate of Orleans High School. Tom was retired from IMCO Recycling and the Washington County Sheriffs Department as a jailer.
He was preceded in death by his first wife: Lenette Hopkins Guthrie in August 2010. Tom then married Nancy Clark Guthrie on April 10, 2015, and she survives. He is also survived by four sons: Jeff Guthrie of Campbellsburg, Tim Guthrie (Tricia) of Salem, Jason England (Kutina) of Mitchell, and Tom England (Stacey) of Mitchell, two daughters: Donna Marshall (Brian) of Salem and Sherry Markle (Mike) of Bedford, two brothers: Keith Guthrie of Orleans, and Marvin Guthrie of French Lick, a sister: Saundra Hardin of Bedford, 17 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
Tom was also preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Jerry Guthrie, and three sisters: Sherry Warner, Darlene Ritchey, and Wanda Chapman.
Funeral services will be held at 1PM Saturday at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Campbellsburg with military honors. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10AM-until time of service.
