Ward E Nelson

Mr. Ward E. Nelson, age 97, of Salem, passed away Saturday, November 13 at Salem Crossing.

Mr. Nelson was born June 26, 1924, in Washington County, Indiana the son of William and Elsie Huston Nelson. He was a member of New Salem First Church of God. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a retired farmer and school bus driver.

Ward married Helen L. Felker on July 16, 1950, and she survives. He is also survived by three sons:  Mark Nelson (Melody) of Salem, Paul Nelson (A. Charlene) of Salem, and Reed Nelson (Shelly) of Noblesville, Indiana, 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers:  Loren Nelson, Ferrell Nelson and John Nelson, a sister:  Lois Anderson, and his parents.

Graveside services will be held Thursday at Noon at Beech Grove Cemetery. Burial will follow. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8PM at Weathers Funeral Home.
