William R Russell

Mr. William R. Russell age 83 of Pekin passed away Tuesday, August 9 at 6:40PM at Floyd Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Russell was born August 8, 1928 in Washington County, Indiana the son of Sherman and Ora Cress Russell.  He was a retired employee of Eastern School Corporation and was a part time employee of the Town of Pekin.  He was  member of Pekin Church of Christ.  He was a former U.S. Marine.

He is survived by his wife:  Mary J. Tichenor Russell.  They were married December 31, 1957.  He is also survived by a step-daughter:  Martha Jackson of Jeffersonville, a brother:  Gerald Russell of Pekin and his children:  Brad Russell and Sarah Grounds, two grandsons:  Steven and Jared Jackson, three great-grandsons:  Evan and Jordan Jackson and Logan Hall, and a great-great-grandson:  Xander Jackson.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter:  Stephanie Jackson.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00AM at Weathers Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery with military honors.  Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8PM and Friday from 8AM-time of service.
