Mrs. Ann Lou Nantz, age 87, of Salem, passed away Thursday, September 8 at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville.
Mrs. Nantz was born November 16, 1934, in Salem the daughter of John Curtis Denney and Daisy Hague Denney. She owned Miss Ann’s Daycare in Salem. She was a member of Southern Hills Church and was a graduate of Salem High School, Class of 1952. Ann loved cooking and spending time with friends and family, her kids and grandkids, and youth group. She was always on the go and loved traveling with her husband and friends. She never met a stranger and was always up for any jokes she could play on anyone.
Ann married Robert Nantz on December 14, 1952, and he preceded her in death on July 5, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her daughter: Marna Jane Elmore, a brother: John Denney, a sister: Mary Jane Carnes, and her parents.
She is survived by a son: Mark Nantz (Roxanne) of Salem, son-in-law: Doug Elmore, six grandchildren: Heather Huber (Dan), Holly Terrell (Brad), Heath Nantz, Hugh Nantz (Logan), AJ Elmore, and Rob Batchelor (Tia), eight great-grandchildren: Madison, Morgan, and Reed Huber, Grace and Gus Terrell, Avery and Hayden Nantz and Charlea Batchelor.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00AM at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-6PM and Monday from 9AM-time of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donation be made to: Climb Pediatric Intensive Therapy. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home or donations can be sent via Venmo @climbtn, put Grandma Ann in the memo.
