Obituary

Mr. Douglas Keith Hildreth, 59 years young of Pekin, Indiana passed away April 5, 2023.

Doug was born December 11, 1963, in Seymour, Indiana, the son of Ernest Charles Hildreth and Juanita June Gullett Hildreth.  He was the owner of Northside Auto. He also had worked for ICM Krebsoge, Jeffboat, and the Pekin Post Office.  In his younger years, he was involved in Bowling leagues and won many trophies.  He was an experienced member of the Boy Scouts.  He always had a smile on his face.  He looked forward to hanging out with his friends and attending family gatherings.  He was always up to tag along with his buddies on an adventure. He loved working on cars, boats, atvs, heavy equipment, and small engines. He loved spending time with his grandkids, helping others in any way he could, and listening to music.  He loved being outdoors, whether it be camping, boating, fishing, or being on his backhoe or tractor.  He was a jack of all trades, woodworking, excavation work, construction projects and carpentry and tinkering on things in his garage.

Doug married Myra Bell Hildreth on November 12, 1994.  He is survived by his wife:  Myra Hildreth of Pekin, a son:  Tory Hildreth of Pekin, four daughters:  Heather Riley (Greg) of Seymour, Claudia Lee (Bobby) of Pekin, Kayla Hildreth of Pekin, and Amelia Mollet (Dustin) of Pekin, ten grandchildren:  Ashton Gunter, Piper Riley, Aubrey Mollet, Axel Lee, Della Mollet, Delaney Elkins, Florian Hildreth, Ellison Hildreth, Dyson Hildreth, and Blanton Hildreth, and two great-grandchildren:  Gracellyn and Aubriella Gunter, a brother:  Steve Hildreth (Susie), a sister:  Pauletta Sturdevant (Paul), and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and four sisters:  Rosie Gofourth (Bill), Janet Schurman (Raymond), Sherry White (Jim), and Judy Smith.

A memorial service will be held April 16th from 2-4PM at Pekin United Methodist Church.  There will be a dinner at the church following the services for all family and friends.
