Jason Edward Jarrels

Jason Edward Jarrels, age 23, of Pekin, passed away Wednesday, March 16.

Jason was born July 25, 1998, in Dayton, Ohio the son of Kemal and Lori Soydemir and Tylene Jarrels.  Jason was a member of Pekin Church of Christ and loved singing hymns.  He attended East Washington High School and loved being a member of the band during his time there.  Jason also loved hunting. He was an employee of Casey’s in Pekin.

Jason is survived by his mom and mommy:  Tylene Jarrels and Lori Soydemir both of Pekin, siblings: Brett Tanksley (Kendra) of Salem, Bailee Tanksley of Seymour, Paul Jarrels (Jessica)of Henryville and David Jarrels of Salem, and his grandfather:  Leroy Fleming of Pekin. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and other family members and co-workers of Casey’s, Wal-Mart, Popeye’s and Burger King.

He was preceded in death by his daddy:  Kemal Soydemir and his grandmother:  Iris Fleming.

Burial will be held Thursday, March 24, at 1PM at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Pekin.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 26 at 1PM at Pekin Church of Christ.
