Maxine L (Ashabraner) Simpson

Mrs. Maxine L. Simpson, age 95, of Salem, passed away Sunday, August 16 at St. Vincent Salem Hospital.

Mrs. Simpson was born September 5, 1924 in Pekin, Indiana the daughter of Ellis and Lola Hill Ashabraner. She was a beautician and co-owner of Simpson Service Station for 25 years.  She attended Blue River Friends Church.

Maxine was preceded in death by her husband:  Lee B. “Red” Simpson in 2007, her daughter:  Janna Herrold Simpson, one brother, one grandchild, and her parents.

She is survived by two daughters:  Leanna Brewer (John) of Bloomington and Gayla Kaiser (John) of Salem, a sister:  Pauline Gray of Shelbyville, five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Thursday at 11AM at Blue River Friends Cemetery.  Burial will follow in Blue River Friends Cemetery.
