Obituary

Mr. Melvin Lee Bright, age 79, of Salem, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 5 at Robley Rex VA Hospital.

Mr. Bright was born June 25, 1943 in Floyd County the son of Leo and Nancy Austin Bright. He was a United States Airforce Veteran. He was a member of Salem Church of God.

He is survived by his wife: Shirley Brough Bright, a son: Tommy Bright, two daughters: Autumn Bright, and Amanda Bright, a step-son: Jimmy (Pete) Martin, a step-daughter: Laquitta Maxwell (Sonny), a brother: Merrill Bright (Judy), and several grandchildren and step-grandchildren.

Melvin is preceded in death by a step-daughter: Latricia (Bobby) Bramer, two brothers: William (Shorty) Bright, and Robert Bright, four sisters: Ruth Ann Haas, Gloria Booker, Helen Woods, and Norma Stienbergen, one grandchild, one great-grandchild, and his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 1PM Saturday at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be held from 10AM-until time of service at the funeral home.
