Stanley Joe Maudlin

Stanley Joe Maudlin, 64, Campbellsburg, IN found his way Home into the loving arms of God on December 31, 2021.

His passing is felt deeply by long time companion, Tammy Maudlin; daughter Jackie Lee Maudlin (Campbellsburg), grandchildren; Kylie Jo Maudlin (Corydon), Sebastian Ivers (Borden), Colton Hall (Campbellsburg) and Layla Hall; and two great grandchildren, Jax Turpen and Delilah Ivers.

Joe was born in Scottsburg, IN to parents Stanley R. and Sally Maudlin (Campbellsburg). They along with siblings Arnold “Buddy” Maudlin (Karen) (Pekin), Joni Hardy (Clint) (Salem) also mourn his passing. A whole pack of nieces and nephews remember him lovingly as the wild uncle, as equally likely to be causing a ruckus or having their backs.

Two sisters, Joy Shaffer and Jonna Potter, a brother, Jeff Maudlin and two nephews Robby and Shane Shaffer preceded him Home and no doubt offered a noisy reunion at the Pearly Gates.

Retired from construction work and general mayhem at the time of his passing, the image of Joe a lot of folks have in their mind is him with long hair and wearing motorcycle boots. In recent years Joe talked on the phone like it was a job, keeping folks up to date on the latest family news. A long time member of the rowdy friends club, Joe’s exterior scruff hid the heart of a man that loved his dogs and his grandkids. (And great grandkids and really most kids he met.) Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing and giving folks a hard time.

Many friends and family members will miss his stories and snappy comebacks.

Joe’s life (and hopefully some amazing stories from friends) will be celebrated Saturday, January 8 at 11:00 A.M. at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M., and Saturday from 10AM-until time of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to help cover the expenses of burial.
