William "Bill" Elrod

Mr. William “Bill” Elrod, age 72, of Salem, passed away Thursday, March 17 at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany.

Mr. Elrod was born October 28, 1949 in New Albany the son of Ralph and Margarite Naugle Elrod. He was member of Westview Christian Church. He was a lifetime farmer and worked for Westfield Auger. Bill was a member of the Farmers Club, N.Q.S. Tractor Pulling Association, Southern Indiana Pullers Association, and the Tristate Tractor Pulling Association.

He is survived by his wife: Sherry Sullivan Elrod they were married July 27, 1968. He is also survived by a daughter: Julie Fleenor of Salem, a daughter-in-law: Shelley Elrod of Salem, three sisters: Betty Dixon, Sunny Jones (Danny), and Karan Jones (Craig) all of Salem, and two grandchildren: Allie Elrod and Cole Fleenor.

He was preceded in death by a son: Johnny Elrod on July 7, 2016, and his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11AM Monday, March 21 at Westview Christian Church. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00-6:00PM and Monday from 10AM-until time of service at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Washington County Community Foundation, Johnny Elrod Scholarship Fund.
